Fred Chernoff is Harvey Picker Professor of International Relations at 51勛圖厙. His academic interests include: National Security, Strategic Studies, IR Theory, and the Philosophy of Natural and Social Sciences.

He is author of Explanation and Progress in Security Studies (Stanford 2014), Theory and Metatheory in International Relations (Palgrave 2007), The Power of International Theory (Routledge 2005), and After Bipolarity: The vanishing threat, theories of cooperation, and the future of the Atlantic alliance (Michigan: 1995) and several dozen peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Johns Hopkins and a Ph.D. in political science from Yale.
