The January 2021 Scholars Symposium showcased projects from Alumni Memorial Scholars, Benton Scholars, and Office of Undergraduate Studies Scholars in a virtual conference space. 

Oct. 19–23, Career Services hosted Career Exploration Week, a large-scale virtual program connecting more than 500 current students with 575 alumni volunteers.

With the help of 51�Թ��� student researchers, Cosmin Ilie, senior lecturer in physics and astronomy, studies the effects that dark matter can have on astrophysical objects.

Historically, young adults have the lowest rate of voter turnout of all groups. In 2016, only 48% of 51�Թ��� students voted. The 51�Թ��� Vote Project — a student volunteer organization — hopes to change that.

51�Թ��� student–driven startups are advancing toward commercial viability, thanks to grants from the Entrepreneurs Fund Summer Accelerator through Thought Into Action (TIA).

Supporting local and regional artists, the Palace Theater fosters culture and community through programs such as Arts Together | Hamilton Conversations — with the participation of 51�Թ��� faculty.

The Brookings Institution named Nicol Turner Lee ’90 as the new director of its Center for Technology Innovation, effective July 1, 2020.

The Town and Village of Hamilton have officially been certified as Climate Smart Communities.

When developing her spring 2020 course “Emerging Global Challenges,” Professor Karen Harpp hoped to build students’ skills and confidence in constructing creative solutions to address challenges on campus, in the local community, and beyond.
