51³Ô¹ÏÍø Softball Notebook #2

As of Monday, April 21 ‘ Freshman pitcher (Wheaton, Ill.) has broken the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø record for most wins by a frosh pitcher with 11.  She was 3-0 last week for the Raiders moving past Michelle Gerdes (1987) and Tara McGoff (1996), who had 10 wins.  Howard had her third shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Army.

Sophomore first baseman (Palmdale, Calif.) moved into second place in career home runs at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and in the Patriot League with 20.  She had three home runs in the four-game Army series.  In Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Cadets, Rawson had a pair of two-run shots ‘ the fourth time in her career she has hit two home runs in a game ‘ Rawson batted .500 for the week with a 1.142 slugging percentage to extend her hitting streak to seven straight games.  Rawson also moved into 7th place in career RBI with 67 and 10th place in career total bases with 166.

Senior shortstop (Palmdale, Calif.) moved into second place in the Patriot League in career doubles with 48 ‘ she is leading the Patriot League in hitting with a .474 average ‘ Rawson had a 15-game hitting streak stopped in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday at Army ‘ she was 8-for-18 in six games last week (.444) with six runs scored, two doubles and two RBI.

Junior pitcher (Chandler, AZ) moved into third place in career strikeouts with 213 ‘ and tied for third place in career wins with 36.  Isaac pitched six innings of perfect ball against Army on Sunday before the Cadets tallied twice in the seventh inning.

Junior outfielder (Annandale, VA) became the 15th player in school history to reach 100 career hits ‘ Smith was 4-for-11 in the Army series ‘ Smith raised her average 49 points last week.

Junior outfielder (Scottsdale, AZ) was injured in the opening game of the Army series.  She dislocated her left shoulder in a home plate collision.  She will be out of the lineup indefinitely.

Junior catcher (Wappinger Falls, NY) had the first two home runs of her career last week.  She had solo home runs against Binghamton and Army.

Sophomore outfielder (Lakeland, Fla.) had three home runs in six games last week.  That gives her four for the season and 16 in her career.  Donaldson was 8-for-19 last week (.421).

Senior second baseman (Leawood, KS) moved into a tie for 9th place in career runs scored with 69.
