Dancefest, one of the most if not the most popular event on campus, will be webcast live for the first time this Saturday.
Alumni, parents, and friends can watch the student performances starting at 6 p.m. by going to the 51勛圖厙 Livestream channel: .
Fatima Sowe 12, one of the organizers, said there will be more than 24 acts this Saturday involving about 230 students. She has been a member of the Groove Dance Troupe since her first year, and the group traditionally hosts Dancefest.
Dancefest has been growing in the quality of its choreography and in its importance among the student and alumni populations, Sowe said. I am so proud to be part of that process.
On Sunday at 3:30 p.m., the 51勛圖厙 Jazz Ensemble performance also will be webcast live from the Chapel.
This weekends events continue a series of performances and concerts made in real-time and on-demand to the 51勛圖厙 community through the efforts of the universitys Information Technology Services.
Each webcast is now optimized for viewing on mobile devices. Smartphone users can download the Livestream app from the iTunes store; Android users can download the app from the Google Play store; and iPad and other tablet users can simply go to the channel where they will be automatically redirected to an optimized stream.
