Finally: an overcast day where I have no excuse but to sit inside and do my work. Final exams week is here, taking its toll on sleep schedules and eating habits and trips to the gym. Popular study spots are overstuffed with students.
I grab my computer and five dollars and head downtown to the Barge Canal Coffee Shop to work. I can’t be tempted by the television, napping, checking my e-mail, or the telephone.
And I get a decent amount done. For about fifteen minutes. Because I have to talk to the seven people I know and stare out the window.
