Hamilton, NY — Antawn Dobie scored a game-high 27 points and added six assists to lead Long Island University to a 78-70 win over 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Sunday at Cotterell Court.
The Blackbirds (1-4) snapped 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s seven-game home court winning streak and handed the Raiders (3-4) their first home loss of the season in four games.
Other Long Island players in double figures were Raymond Edwards with 15 points, JaJa Bey with 12 points and Derek Bell with 10. Bell finished with a double-double as he hauled down a game-high 13 rebounds.

Long Island took an early 22-9 lead before 51³Ô¹ÏÍø battled back to tie the score 29-29 on Zidar’s layup with 4:59 remaining in the first half. The Raiders would go up by three points, 36-33, before the score was tied at intermission, 38-38.
In the second half, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø enjoyed a seven-point advantage, 60-53, with 11:49 remaining. The Raiders continued to lead 62-60 with 10:18 to go before going scoreless over the next 6:52 allowing Long Island to take a 70-62 lead and never look back. Dobie had four points to start the run of 10-point run by the Blackbirds.
Long Island out-rebounded 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, 40-33. Sullivan and Zidar each had six rebounds for the Raiders.
