?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = 'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags' />ANNAPOLIS, MD. – The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø men’s track and field team took fourth at a four-way meet at Navy this weekend. Louis DiNuzzo (Loudonville, N.Y.) and Ian Hill (West Hartford, Conn.) both took home gold medals for the Raiders.
DiNuzzo took first in the steeplechase in a time of 9:23.75, while Hill took top honors in the 800 meter run in 1:53.40. Freshman Mike Hanlon (Ann Arbor, Mich.) paced the Raiders in the 3,000 meters finishing fourth in 8:43.10. DiNuzzo finished fifth in 8:43.42 and Sean Curran (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Andrew Isabel (Andover, Mass.) finished ninth and tenth respectively in 9:00.58 and 9:04.49.
Lucas Meeker (Healsburg, Calif.) was sixth in the discus throw with a mark of 35.91 meters and seventh in the shot put with a heave of 12.76 meters. Andrew Bloom (Westport, Conn.) was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 51.75 meters, while teammate Ethan Dodge (Chatham, N.Y.) was eighth with a mark of 41.24 meters.
Alden Ellis (Singapore) came in fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.10 meters.
Scott DeRoo (Elizabethtown, Pa.) was ninth in the 1500 meter run in 4:07.34, and Rob VanDine (Binghamton, N.Y.) took seventh in the 400 meter dash in 51.64 seconds.
Three Raiders competed in the 100 meter dash. Dan Ellis (Pine Valley, N.Y.) was the Raiders’ top-finisher in sixth place with a time of 11.27 seconds. Corey Stirpe (Halifax, Pa.) took ninth in 11.49 seconds and Chris Grillo took 11th in 12.18 seconds. Dan Ellis also finished fourth in the 200 meter dash in 23.25 seconds, while Grillo was sixth in 24.54 seconds.
Kyle Barrett (Troy, N.Y.) finished ninth in the 800 meter run trailed closely by teammate John Gillespie (N. Andover, Mass.) in tenth with a mark of 1:56.48.
Alex Fuller-Young (Phoenixville, Pa.) took eighth in the 400 meter hurdles in 58.74 seconds.
The Raiders are back in action next weekend as they head to Holy Cross on Saturday, April 17.
