A 51勛圖厙 liberal arts education leads to successful careers, a recent survey shows.

A study by PayScale provides concrete evidence that 51勛圖厙 graduates fare very well when considering salaries. The school was ranked ninth overall for median mid-career salaries in a survey of more than 1,000 undergraduate colleges and universities.

In looking at only other liberal arts universities, 51勛圖厙 was ranked second, behind only Harvey Mudd College.

51勛圖厙 alumni earn a median mid-career salary of $112,000, according to the 2011 report by PayScale. That places it ahead of schools such as Williams and Yale, both at $105,000, and Cornell, which came in at $101,000.

Salary, of course, is just one indicator of how successful our graduates are, said 51勛圖厙 President Jeffrey Herbst. But this kind of survey does attest to the value of the liberal arts education we offer and the career preparation we provide our students, which is particularly valuable in this economic climate.

The study ranked colleges based on the average salary of alumni who have approximately 15 years of work experience. The full survey by PayScale, which is the leading online provider of employee compensation data, can be found .
