The Living Writers series always strives to engage students with contemporary authors who grapple with modern issues. This year’s novels and essay collections have helped students discuss their own lived experiences after a summer marked by pandemic and race riots.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø community members preparing for the university’s Bicentennial kickoff enjoyed a legendary opening act on September 20. Patti Smith, award-winning singer-songwriter and author, launched the weekend with music and readings through the Living Writers series.
