Randy Fuller, Russell 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Distinguished University Professor of biology and environmental studies, has received the 2019 Distinguished Service Award from the Society for Freshwater Science (SFS).

Each year, endowed academic chairs and professorships provide resources that support the work of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty members across campus. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Board of Trustees approved a new slate of endowed chairholders during its autumn meeting, September 28–29.
Daniel B. Hurwitz ’86, P’17,’20, current Chair of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees, has announced that he will step down from his chairmanship, effective May 4, 2019, in response to increased professional obligations.
Steve Fabiani, vice president and chief information officer, has accepted the position of vice president for digital innovation and technology at Hofstra University. He will take up his new role later this semester.
Alumni, parents, and friends streamed into the Village of Hamilton by the thousands on Friday, Sept. 21, joining the campus community for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s three-day Bicentennial Kickoff Celebration. They were greeted by banners hailing 51³Ô¹ÏÍø at 200 Years and a calendar packed with special events.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø has named Paul B. Mischler, currently deputy chief advancement officer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Medicine, as vice president for advancement at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. He will take up his new post on November 5.
Tara Bubble, deputy director of undergraduate admissions at Cornell University, has been named dean of admission at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. She will take up her new post on October 15.
Looking back on another successful fiscal year, the campus community is honoring the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends. Overall giving to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø rose nearly 10 percent to $35.1 million between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018.
