51�Թ��� senior hockey defenseman Spiro Goulakos has been selected as one of 20 candidates for the 2014-15 Senior Class Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. 51�Թ��� recently released a practice protocol designed to limit head injuries in sports. Expanding on the idea, athletics director Victoria Chun ’91 MA ’94 wrote an op-ed called “There Is No Neat Solution For Head Injuries in Sport” for the Huffington Post.

The 51�Թ��� community has shown overwhelming support of Frank Dining Hall cashier Jean Brooks as she battles cancer. In the past month, $35,529 has been raised through a GoFundMe.com campaign set up by Christian Long ’13 in order to help with Brooks’s treatment expenses beyond what insurance covers. 

Ferris State scored midway through the first period and held off a charging Raiders squad in the final two frames. 51�Թ��� (20-14-5) fired 21 shots on net in the final two periods and had a total of 20 shots blocked by the Bulldogs in a tough 1-0 decision.
