Daniel Benton ’80, P’10, H’10 has secured his place as 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s most generous benefactor, making a $25 million gift in support of the University’s Middle Campus Plan for Arts, Creativity, and Innovation and other elements within The Third-Century Plan.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø announced the creation of two endowed faculty chairs that will support teaching and research in areas important to The Third-Century Plan.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø received an all-time record number of applications for admission, shattering all previous records in the history of this two-century old liberal arts college. 

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, provided a rare opportunity to celebrate in a challenging year. On that evening, 324 early decision applicants became the inaugural members of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Class of 2025.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø will hold its annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. in a virtual format, Jan. 25–Feb. 5, 2021.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø is an inaugural member of a new consortium of liberal arts colleges and universities finding creative solutions for addressing issues of racial equity and diversity on campus. 

Submission of SAT and ACT scores will be optional for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø applicants applying in 2021, 2022, and 2023, thanks to a new three-year pilot program.

2U, Inc. (Nasdaq: TWOU), a global leader in education technology, today announced a partnership with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. In collaboration with the University’s Task Force on Remote Learning, Information Technology Services (ITS) and Center for Learning, Teaching and Research (CLTR), 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will now have access to 2UOS Essential—2U’s bundle of course production and development, technology, and support services—to deliver a high-quality, hybrid learning experience for select courses.
