Daniel B. Hurwitz ’86, P’17,’20, current Chair of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees, has announced that he will step down from his chairmanship, effective May 4, 2019, in response to increased professional obligations.

Steve Fabiani, vice president and chief information officer, has accepted the position of vice president for digital innovation and technology at Hofstra University. He will take up his new role later this semester.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø has named Paul B. Mischler, currently deputy chief advancement officer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Medicine, as vice president for advancement at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. He will take up his new post on November 5.

Tara Bubble, deputy director of undergraduate admissions at Cornell University, has been named dean of admission at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. She will take up her new post on October 15.

Looking back on another successful fiscal year, the campus community is honoring the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends. Overall giving to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø rose nearly 10 percent to $35.1 million between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018.

On September 22 at 8 p.m., the legendary ensemble Earth, Wind & Fire will appear in Sanford Field House for a concert honoring 51³Ô¹ÏÍø at 200 Years.

With the beginning of its Bicentennial year, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will launch its 56th and newest major: film and media studies (FMST).

Hanna Rodriguez-Farrar, vice president for public affairs and university relations at Dominican University of California, will join 51³Ô¹ÏÍø as chief of staff to the president starting August 1.

Courtney L. Young, head librarian and professor of women’s studies at Penn State University–Allegheny, has been named university librarian at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and will take up her duties on July 1.

LeAnna Rice, Campus Advisor for the JED Foundation and former Mental Health Counselor and Outreach Coordinator for SUNY Binghamton University, will be 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s next director of the ALANA Cultural Center, effective June 18, 2018.
