51�Թ��� welcomed the Class of 2026 to campus on Sunday, Aug. 21. With 817 members, this is the most selective and academically accomplished class in the history of the institution — formed from the largest applicant pool ever seen by the University.

Today, at a celebration two years in the making, students sent home at the height of the pandemic received due credit for the grit and determination displayed during the final months of their senior year.

Proud families and professors alike cheered on the nearly 700 graduating members in the Class of 2022 at the University’s 201st Commencement exercises, Sunday, May 22.

Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, New York Times critic at large, and co-host of the podcast Still Processing Wesley Morris will provide remarks at 51�Թ���’s 201st commencement, Sunday, May 22. 

Students, faculty, and staff gathered in Memorial Chapel on Tuesday morning for a vigil of solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The gathering was one of several moments during which 51�Թ��� community members have joined together to show their support for victims of the invasion since it began on Feb. 24.

51�Թ��� has received an all-time record number of applications for admission.

The upward trend follows on the heels of last year’s 6.4% increase in ED applications and historic 104% increase in total applications.

Two members of the 51�Թ��� Class of 2021, Jake Gómez and William “Paul” McAvoy, will share this year’s 1819 Award, which recognizes character, scholarship, and service to others, best exemplifying the 51�Թ��� spirit.
